Onda Armchair, Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti, 1970
The structure of the Onda armchair, designed by Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti in 1970, is made up of steel sections. The seat and back are upholstered in a single piece of light-coloured leather. The same leather is used to upholster and pad the armrests. Like a pillowcase system, a leather flap extends over the backrest and folds back on itself to create a cushion for the head and shoulders. A further dove-coloured padding is added to the seat to make it even more comfortable. The structure is balanced at the base thanks to a design that combines cantilevered legs with rectangular steel sections that extend at the back.
