Leather woven armchairs
Designed by Ross Littell in 1968 for ICF Milano, these armchairs emerge from a modernist approach that reduces structure to its essentials, allowing the materials themselves to define the form.
A student of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Littell brings a clear constructive rigor: a linear metal frame supporting a seat built through subtraction, formed by the interweaving of long straps.
The alternating rhythm of the weave creates an elastic and durable surface, where design and function coincide. There is no upholstery, only a direct and legible construction.
The restoration preserves this principle, replacing the original hide with a new leather weave, maintaining the original logic while renewing its presence.
An object that exists at the intersection of structure and surface, between discipline and everyday use.
