A\FRESCO

The A\FRESCO coating is inspired by the ancient technique of fresco painting, known to the Minoan civilisation and developed by the Greeks, Etruscans and Romans. Pigments of mineral origin are mixed and diluted to produce a rich variety of colours, which are expertly applied to a layer of plaster that has not yet dried. During the drying process, also known as carbonisation, the use of this technique guarantees water resistance and, above all, remarkable durability.

“True beauty comes from daring to try something new, something different.”
Carlo Scarpa

The spirit of our A\FRESCO lies in the valorisation of a natural building industry that obtains its raw material, the powder, from the recovery of the bricks of Umbrian farmhouses. Fragments of the Norcia landscape are revived through the use of carefully selected stones that are crushed and combined with other components, in a circular process that results in a unique product.

The choice of each finish shapes the way we experience spaces and the mood that follows. Natural materials have the potential to improve our overall wellbeing. In particular, blends of clay, minerals and pigments offer great benefits: they safely absorb and retain water vapour within their molecular structure, control humidity and temperature variations, are non-flammable and absorb external noise.

A\FRESCO delivers a special aesthetic effect, colour depth and texture that cannot be reproduced by conventional wall finishes. Extraordinary textures range from silky to smooth or to full-bodied with a raw effect. It is a seamless finish suitable for any interior environment: from offices to restaurants, from hotels to residential buildings.

TEXTURES

A\FRESCO is a naturally textured spatula finish that requires a skilful two-coat application and provides a pleasantly porous touch. The grain size can be adjusted according to the application technique.
