Camaleonda modular sofa, Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, 1970
Camaleonda is a modular sofa produced by B&B Italia and designed by Mario Bellini in 1970; the name is an obvious neologism that reflects its extreme versatility. The seat module measures 90 x 90 cm and the rounded backrests are attached to the seats by black plastic straps which are attached to the metal rings on the upholstery by means of a snap hook. The sugar paper-coloured sofa has three square modules, three of which have a backrest and a footstool. The feet are spherical in black resin. Infinite composition possibilities, thanks to its geometric nature, which allows each element to become a piece of the puzzle with which you can define your home environment. Owning a Camaleonda means having the luxury of changing your mind as often as you like, moving and redesigning the space. To quote Bellini: “Some products are born in the future: Camaleonda is one of them”.
