Wingback Armchairs
Designed with high backs and sides to shelter guests from the cold and wind in traditional English mansions, these chairs were known as ‘wing chairs’ or ‘pavilion chairs’. Their characteristic wooden frames, upholstered in a silky fabric, also provided a kind of visual and acoustic privacy. The distinctive, almost shell-like shape makes them a great character piece for a living room.
